based on a Becky Fleck sketch. It would be interesting to see what products your Grandma used to beautify herself wouldn't it??

loved loved loved this line of paper that I used for the background pp - Webster's pages. I had never heard of them before but am officially in love - you should see the other side of the paper! The little picture of me and my sister on the toboggan makes me laugh. apparently she was not impressed with my arrival into the family and even though I was 3 months old at christmas time she still had not accepted that I was a permanent fixture. They arranged this photo shoot much to her dismay. They convinced her to sit with me but there was no way she was going to smile! love it! we are the best of friends now as adults but growing up was always a bit dicey. I was not her favorite person.

This Layout is inspired by a Becky Fleck pagemap. It is one of my favorite pictures from the summer - taken at willow creek campground.

Becky Fleck Page Map to the rescue

used a Becky Fleck pagemap for this LO. I chalked the felt and the elements that I sent through my cuttlebug. It felt seriously old school to use my chalks again. You can't really see it here but in real life the chalk does add some depth.

some summer scrappin

Love those Becky Fleck road maps. It is great to have a place to start from. This page is a jumble of all kinds of products everything from Basic Grey buttons to Making Memories old school metal!

used some coredinations paper here again. I sanded the sun over top my cooling rack and the letters of summer and pool had a sanding over top the cooling rack and cheese grater. even though it is hard to see in the photo - I like how the letters were "softened" a bit by first sanding the coredinations paper before cutting out the letters.

using coredinations paper with a little bit of a twist. the challenge on their blog was to take something unusual and sand the paper over top of it. I used a cheese grater under the title circle - I love how it makes it look like an orange and a cooling rack under the horizontal strip. fun!

We decided to start a new family tradition - the wearing of the crown on your birthday. Julia was the first and she loved it - she wore it to heritage park and to the grocery store. I wonder how the "boys" will feel about wearing it?? I may have to get a manly crown if I have a hope of getting them to do it!

the page is based on a pagemap by Becky Fleck - it sure simplifies things to have a jumping off point like these pagemaps!

Projects...

I apologize for being behind in getting this posted. Here is a picture of the project from the last crop in June. We're looking forward to cropping again in the fall with all of you! It's been a fun year getting to know so many awesome scrapbookers in the area and we hope that we've been able to support you in your pursuit to record your life.

"The future is not someplace we are going to, but a place we are creating.
The paths to it are not found, they are made." [John Schaar]

I saw this quote and it made me stop for a moment and think...what am I doing to forge my future? Whatever it will be I'll be ready, camera in hand to capture it!

Becky Fleck pagemap once again. This was an interesting experience for me, I started down the road that would become this page and realized it really wasn't turning out the way I wanted it to, but decided to keep going anyways. The end result is something that isn't really my "style". I did like how the layering of elements worked out - too bad it's so hard to see in a photo!

Love Becky Fleck page maps - used the June page map as the jumping point for this layout of my daughter a couple of days before her birthday - we knew it was supposed to snow on her birthday and there was no way we were going to have snow in the background of her June birthday - so we did the "photo shoot" a couple of days early. I used a combination of basic grey mellow paper and crate paper samantha papers.

Doodling right on the actual page. I thought we may give our croppers a wee bit of a heart attack with this technique but they didn't even bat an eyelash. This is the original version of the "love you" mini class at our crop last night - I should have taken pictures of some of the others - the doodling our croppers created was fantastic. Looking forward to April 18th 6-11pm our next crop. - Serena

As scrapbookers we keep hearing over and over again that we need to document a little bit about ourselves in our scrapbooks, but how many of us have? we decided to help our group of croppers create a page about themselves in the mini class at our crop on February 28th. Here is the page I created about myself. My daughter took the picture (I had none of just me in recent years) and I printed the list of "25 random things about me" that I had posted on facebook a few weeks ago. It was actually kind of fun! I hope everyone else enjoyed it too! -serena
